Pumpkin Sausage Lasagna

I not only have a passion for sweets, but for pasta too. Here is a great recipe for the “not your traditional” lasagna.
Pumpkin Sausage Lasagna

1 cup pumpkin puree
1 lb. bulk sausage
1 onion, finely diced
1 package no- boil lasagna noodles
2 cups Mozzarella cheese, grated
1 cup Parmesan cheese
¼ cup butter
¼ cup flour
1 ½ cup chicken broth
1 ½ cup milk
2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon garlic powder

In a skillet, brown onion and sausage; drain and remove from skillet. Add butter and melt over medium heat. Add flour and cook 30 seconds. Whisk chicken broth and milk into flour mixture. Continue to whisk as white sauce thickens. Add pepper, salt, garlic and nutmeg. Add pumpkin puree. Stir to combine. Set aside to cool slightly. Layer in a 9×13” baking dish, sauce, noodles, sausage and onion, some cheese and repeat until all noodles are used. Cover and bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting.
