Week of Apple recipes… Caramel Apples

As you can see the possibilities are endless. These were my top three choices of flavor pairing for the day- but I am thinking that a salted caramel apple would be great.

I got a little carried away with my caramel purchase. I did however get it on sale. October was Caramel month at Baker’s Cash & Carry (in Murray, UT), I couldn’t pass up the 5 lbs of great caramel.

However, if that intimidates you at all, you can spring for a smaller bag of Kraft caramels- I highly suggest going for the unwrapped small-ish balls. It’s easier to melt. Trust me.


I think a caramel apple bar would be a fun party for the kids, providing you do all the dipping with the hot caramel- but have some bowls full of crushed Oreos, toffee pieces, cinnamon and sugar, kosher or coarse salt, Reeses Pieces, anything you like. Chocolates would be fun too… I didn’t dip my entire apple into the chocolate- I mostly used a spoon and pretended the apple was like one of my cake pops and spooned the chocolate over the top, not covering the entire apple.
Either way, have fun- and make it your own adventure in the kitchen.
