This bread recipe is sooooooo easy. It’s a recipe you’ll know by heart. You can whip it up in no time- no kneading required.
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup warm water
1 tablespoon sugar ( or 2 tbsp. crystallized honey)
2 teaspoons salt
2 ½ teaspoons instant yeast
Place yeast, water, sugar and salt in a warm bowl and stir until dissolved. Add flour and stir until blended. Do not knead dough. Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled. Flour hands. Oil and sprinkle corn meal on pans. Mold dough into 2 loaves and place on a cookie sheet or loaf pan. Let rise again 1 hour. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes and 375 for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with butter.
Note: This recipe makes one large loaf, it can easily be doubled to make 2 loaves.
