Salty and sweet, rich with dark chocolate chewy goodness. These brownies are amazing. I nearly ate the whole pan myself. I had to hide the brownies from the kids. They were eating them so fast, honestly, I was eating them so fast.
Holy Moly Brownies
1 dark chocolate brownie mix
1/2 cup chocolate olive oil (found here) or lite olive oil
1/2 cup water
Peanut Butter Frosting (see below)
2 cups pretzels
1 cup dark chocolate chips
Mix together your chocolate mix, olive oil, eggs, and water until smooth. Add half the pretzels, crushed and dark chocolate chips. Pour batter into a greased 9×13 baking dish. Bake for 25-28 minutes until just set, and remove from the oven and let cool completely. Top the cooled brownies with the frosting and remaining pretzels.
Peanut Butter Frosting
1 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth- I prefer smooth)
½ cup butter, room temperature
2 cups powdered sugar
3-4 tablespoons milk or cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine butter and peanut butter in a large bowl, mixing together until light and fluffy. Stop the mixer before adding the sugar. Add sugar, 3 tablespoons of milk and the vanilla. Start slow and mix together gradually increasing the speed. Mix untilsmooth and creamy. Add 1 tablespoon of milk if the frosting is too thick.
