We love eating around here. And we love chocolate. And since Miss C decided I wasn’t doing my part with baking some desserts now and then, she was going to make a cake herself.
I’m blaming the library at her school for this, because at the moment our favorite library book to read is “Betty Bunny loves chocolate cake!”
I’m just praying I don’t find chocolate cake in their socks or pockets. My favorite line of the book is, ” I am going to marry chocolate cake!” Here’s Miss C’s recipe- which she did on her own, with a little help from me…. but not much. She has been paying attention to my baking more than I realized.
Miss C’s Chocolate Cake
1 box dark chocolate cake mix
1 cup milk
½ cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 cup mini chocolate chips
1 tub prepared vanilla frosting
2 cups dark chocolate fudge sauce
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
In a bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, milk, sour cream, cinnamon and chocolate chips until smooth and batter is mixed well. Pour into a greased 9×13 baking dish. Bake for 22-25 minutes until cake springs back when lightly touched. Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes. While the cake is still warm, frost with vanilla frosting and warm fudge sauce. It’s melt in your mouth good, gooey chocolate cake.
