Sweet pork tacos. Yum! I have been using my crock pot a lot lately. It saves me time while I’m busy with the baby and the books, and doing carpool, and everything else that’s on my list.

I wanted something really tasty, and Mexican cuisine seems to be the favorite at our house right now.

Sweet Pork Tacos

4-6 lb. Pork shoulder

2 tbsp. cumin

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 tbsp. chili powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup water

1 cup brown sugar

2-3 dashes of Tabasco sauce

Rub the cumin, garlic, chili powder, salt and pepper all over the roast. Place in the crock pot and add the water to the side. Cover and cook for 4 hours on high. Shred the pork and add the brown sugar and the Tabasco sauce. Stir to combine all the flavors and cover and cook for another 2 hours. Serve with warm tortillas and your favorite taco toppings.

Happy dinnertime!

  1. Hi!
Can you tell me what kind of cheese you put on your sweet pork tacos? I discovered your site this week after you were on Studio 5. I’m so excited to try some of your recipes!
