It's craft time! Winter Snowball Wreath

January can be so boring- after you take down your Christmas and holiday decor. The winter blues set in. It’s cold, snowy (sometimes) and plain miserable. I decided this year to decorate for January- with glitter and snowflakes… snowballs and lots of candles. It’s totally changed my outlook for the month- at least until Valentine’s […]

My new favorite place- Eurotreasures Antiques in Salt Lake City

I’ve never been this overwhelmed at a store before.  I kept repeating the phrases, “holy cow,” “oh my goodness,”  and “are you kidding me?” There must have been 3,000 chairs upstairs- any size or shape you could ever want. I’ll back up and start from the beginning. I’d seen this place as I would drive […]

Glitter is better.

Glitter is better. I have these cute little trees I pull out at Christmas time. This year, I had a feeling I’d love them more if I gave them a small makeover. Using glitter. Before After I love them again! Happy Crafting!

Felt Flower Wreath- inspired by fall

I found 3 fall inspired wreaths and desperately needed a craft day. After being sick and the book tour- I needed a break to clear my head, and the thought of involving felt, a glue gun, and some buttons, sounded like the best kind of therapy. So I went to work. I came up with […]

I'm getting crafty!

I love craft days…. and I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had one in months…. unless you count the DIY cake plates. But technically that was for the book, right? Have you seen Pinterest lately? There are some great ideas for fall and Halloween decorations.  So, I was craving Hobby Lobby one morning- and called […]

DIY cake plates

It’s a simple as one, two, three…. and some spray paint, plates, small vases, E6000, or epoxy glue. I would highly recommend you prime your plates and small vases before you paint. This allows the paint to adhere better. It’s an extra step, but well worth it. Then spray your plates, bottom sides first. Allowing […]

Why I am not baking. Part 5- The highchair.

I purchased this beautiful wooden highchair 4 years ago…. when my baby was really a baby. I thought I’d refinish it and put it in my kitchen….. That was so long ago. I stumbled upon it recently in my attic, wrapped in plastic…. so I thought- this is a perfect project for me- with my […]

Why I am not baking. Part 4- The wonders of spray paint.

I’ve needed to be crafty outside the kitchen, so this is my latest project… which took hardly any time at all. My friend Miranda found the bench on KSL.com and decided she didn’t need it after all. I casually told her how much I loved it and if she didn’t want it, I would buy […]

And here is another way to use these great little cupcake wrappers- different than liners, but for someome like me who wants a gourmet cupcake […]
